Employee Motivation and Retention in Hybrid Work Environments

This study explores how hybrid working models (remote + onsite) affect motivation and retention in Sri Lanka’s IT and outsourcing sector.

🔹 Objectives

  • To measure the impact of hybrid work on motivation.

  • To identify HR strategies for boosting retention.

🔹 Methodology

Online surveys (n=120 employees) and interviews with 6 HR managers from leading tech firms.

🔹 Key Findings

  • 78% of employees prefer hybrid over full onsite work.

  • Key motivators: flexibility, work-life balance, and autonomy.

  • Firms using regular feedback and remote recognition have higher retention.

🔹 Conclusion

Hybrid work increases motivation but must be supported by structured engagement policies.
