Sustainable Supply Chain Practices in the Apparel Industry

This study assesses how sustainability is embedded into supply chains in Sri Lanka’s apparel sector, a key contributor to the national economy.

Case study approach with 4 top apparel exporters. Interviews were conducted with supply chain managers and sustainability officers.

  • Companies increasingly use recycled materials and energy-efficient processes.

  • Sustainable practices improve international client retention.

  • Supplier audits are essential for compliance.

🔹 Conclusion

Sustainability is not just a compliance factor but a competitive advantage in the global apparel market.
