A Few Words About Postgraduate Unit

The Postgraduate Unit at the Faculty of Management, University of Peradeniya, was established in 2019 to provide advanced knowledge and skills in management.

We offers a range of Master’s and Postgraduate Diploma programs designed to prepare professionals and academics for the challenges of today’s dynamic global business environment. The unit aims to develop competent leaders who can contribute effectively to both industry and academia.

The PG Unit began operations in early 2020, welcoming its first intake of postgraduate students on February 9, 2020. The Faculty itself (with PG support) holds a top-tier "Grade A" rating from Sri Lanka’s University Grants Commission QA Council. Postgraduate programmes such as the MBA benefit from faculty who trained internationally and use case-based and team-based learning

The newest intake (5th batch) began in January 2024 The 4th intake included 29 new entrants in January 2023. Since 2020, the PG Unit has steadily grown, holding welcome ceremonies each year. While specific alumni numbers & completion rates aren't publicly listed, the institution's consistent, growing intake signals healthy programme development.

MBA graduates hold positions across public and private sectors in Sri Lanka and overseas . The strong teaching panel, rigorous teaching methods, and student-led MBA Association—which funds career planning services—ensure high post-grad impact. Organizes annual Welcome Ceremonies and orientations for incoming students. Hosts research-focused events like seminars and international management research sessions . The MBA programme admits roughly 50 students annually, selecting about 25% of applicants. Prospective students undergo a selection test followed by an interview. Some applicants report inconsistencies during interviews, though transparent from reel experience .
