The Master of Business Administration is a two-year, part-time postgraduate degree conducted over four semesters through the Postgraduate Unit of the Faculty of Management, University of Peradeniya. To earn the MBA, students must complete a total of 50 credits, including core modules, elective courses in strategic areas such as marketing, HR, operations, and a research project and thesis component in the final semesters
A graduate of Master of Business Administration should be a competent, versatile & ethical individual with comprehensive and substantial level of knowledge in multifunctional areas of management and a critical thinker in problem solving & decision making with effective communication and investigation skills to plan and implement tasks independently in a professional manner.
Applicants must meet one of the following criteria:
Hold a Bachelor’s Honours degree (Class or CGPA above 3.00) from a recognized university in Sri Lanka or abroad.
Hold a Bachelor’s Honours degree (any class) from a recognized university, plus at least one year of executive-level work experience.
Hold a non-honours Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) from a recognized university, plus at least two years of executive-level work experience.
Hold a recognized professional qualification (e.g., Attorney‑at‑Law; finalist/member of ICASL, CIMA, ACCA, CMA, CIM UK, SLIM, IPM, CIB UK/Sri Lanka, CIE UK/Sri Lanka, or ICSA) plus at least two years of executive-level work experience.
Any other educational or professional credentials (with relevant work experience) that the Faculty’s Higher Degrees Committee deems equivalent
The candidates who successfully completed the Postgraduate Diploma in Accounting & Finance and Postgraduate Diploma in Management programs of the Faculty of Management, University of Peradeniya is eligible to enroll in the M.Sc. in Accounting & Finance, M.Sc. in Management and MBA programs via transferring credits earned at the Postgraduate Diploma level immediately after completion of that level. When a candidate registers for the M.Sc. or MBA o programs through transfer of credits earned at the Postgraduate Diploma level, he/she shall be deprived of the rights to claim the Postgraduate Diploma qualification. In addition, lateral entry is available for those who have graduated with a postgraduate diploma in the relevant field through the credit transfer facility.

After registration, complete the online application form specific to the MBA programme and upload all required documents, including academic transcripts, certificates, service letters (if applicable), and a scanned payment slip.
A non-refundable application fee of Rs. 3,000 must be paid to the following account:

Payment Slip Upload Instruction:
Before uploading, the payment slip or receipt must be renamed using your application registration number (e.g., PGUM001234
). This helps the administration to easily match your payment with your application.
Once the payment is made and the slip is renamed, upload it to the application portal and complete your submission. The Postgraduate Unit will review your application, and shortlisted candidates may be invited for an interview.
